Our experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Max Lehfeldt, specializes in complex breast implant revision surgery. Dr. Lehfeldt’s unique skills are called upon to completely reshape and restore implants and breast tissues that have become distorted with scar tissue and time.

Dr. Lehfeldt’s rich experience with complex breast reconstruction/revision surgery has helped him develop a specialized set of surgical approaches to help patients with complicated implant issues:

Malposition (breast implants too low/bottoming out, too lateral/on the side, or too far apart)
Thick recurrent breast implant scar tissue/firmness (encapsulation)

There are many specialized techniques that are often required to achieve the ideal result for implant removal and exchange. Dr. Lehfeldt may need to remove all the scar tissue around your old implants (capsulectomy), place new implants (often below the muscle), implant-site exchange, and reshape the breast and support new implants using soft tissue support devices. Sometimes reshaping the breast skin and raising the nipple position will also be required.
